Gardiner State Park (Bayshore) – This is a small 1.3 mile loop but lots of people bring dogs. Leads to a beach where dogs can go swimming. Never seen ruling on leashed dogs, I’ve walked my dog off leash here, but make sure you’re dog is well trained if you walk off leash, cause some dogs are not all friendly and if your dog walks up to a leashed dog that isn’t, then that can be a bad day

Avalon Preserve (Stony Brook) – 3.6 mile loop. Allows leashed dogs

Blyndenburgh State Park (Smithtown) – Great 6.6 mile loop around a freshwater lake that your dog is allowed to go swimming. Same rules as Gardiner with off leash dog walking.
